Gemach

Interest-Free Loan Program

Following the Jewish tradition of gemilut chasadim, we provide interest-free loans to help families through financial challenges while maintaining their dignity.

What is a Gemach?

A gemach (ื’ืžืดื—) is a Hebrew acronym for "gemilut chasadim" (acts of loving kindness). In Jewish tradition, providing an interest-free loan is considered one of the highest forms of charity because it allows the recipient to maintain their dignity while getting back on their feet.

Unlike traditional charity, a loan empowers the recipient to become self-sufficientโ€”fulfilling the highest level of tzedakah as taught by Maimonides.
